Academy Head Coach: ANNE ELDRIDGE

Having spent the past two years as the assistant coach for the u20s and standing as the head coach for the 2017 Academy, Anne brings nearly 15 years of coaching experience to the Academy in 2018. Anne’s attention to detail, thorough preparation and invaluable history with the Sparks ensures the future of the UTS Sparks is definitely a bright one.

U20s Head Coach: REGAN TWEDDLE

Regan’s work ethic, passion and awareness has been proven year after year, being the mastermind behind two Grand Final appearances for our u20s Sparks. By striving for greatness and enlisting in talented assistants, Regan led the u20s to their maiden Premier League title in 2017 and has no intentions of giving away the Champion title in 2018. UTS Sparks are thrilled to announce such a selfless, dedicated and hardworking u20s head coach for season 2018.

U20s Assistant Coach: STEVEN PHILPOT

Steven has represented NSW and Australia in Men’s netball for numerous years, playing a pivotal role in the attacking end. Steven also boasts a rich history with UTS, as a UTS alumni and playing a part in the establishment of the UTS Netball Club, one of the most successful clubs in the country. Steven’s crafty playing style and wealth of knowledge confirms he will significantly contribute to the development of u20s midcourters and shooters, as he did with the Opens team in 2017.

U20s Apprentice Coach: EUGENE LEE

Having spent the previous two years as the Sparks Primary Carer and making his presence known as the loudest voice on the bench, Eugene Lee steps into the apprentice coaching role for the 2018 season. Eugene’s experience as a NSW and Australian representative, as well as his specialist work with u20s attacking players ensure his coaching role will translate into success for season 2018!

Opens Head Coach: MOIRA GAHA

Balancing her duties as Head Coach and High Performance Manager for the previous two years, Moira is back on board and has been tirelessly completing her High Performance Coaching Accreditation. As a role model for all Sparks coaches and athletes, Moira’s coaching resume is beyond impressive, with two National titles, six Silver medals, and over eight years of ANL experience! Playing a pivotal role in the development of 2018 Suncorp Super Netball players Claire O’Brien and Kaitlin Bryce, Moira has big things planned for the future of all UTS Sparks representatives.

Opens Assistant Coach: ALI TUCKER

Joining the Sparks in 2016 as a specialist defensive coach, Ali has proved her expertise with her defensive players holding the best records in the league for two years running. As an experienced player herself, having played in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy for the Jaegers and the Ravens, Ali is an incredible coach and a fantastic mentor for all Sparks representatives. The 2018 Opens team are fortunate to have such valuable guidance on board, welcome Ali!

Opens Apprentice Coach: TYSAN ALLEN

Returning for his second year with the Sparks, Tysan makes his debut in the Opens Premier League coaching line up. Carrying knowledge beyond his years and multiple appearances for Australia’s men’s team, the rapid progression of Tysan’s five year coaching history is a testament to his work ethic and knowledge of the game. As one of NSW’s most exciting young coaches, UTS Sparks are thrilled to welcome Tysan into the Opens program for 2018.

Defensive Specialist Coach: HEATH BROWN

Heath has two years of experience with the Sparks, having joined the team as the Opens assistant coach in 2016 before taking on specialist coaching roles for both teams. Heath has proved his value on the court as an elite athlete, representing multiple states at the Australian Men’s Netball Nationals, and representing Australia at the highest level of men’s netball. Heath’s coaching career emulates his playing career, with NSW and Australian representation amongst his many successes. Welcome back, Heath!

Strength & Conditioning Coach: ADAM SLATTERY

An exciting addition to season 2018 is undoubtedly the presence of Strength & Conditioning coach, Adam! Complimenting his history playing both netball and basketball, Adam’s professional qualifications include a Certificate IV in Fitness, Certified Boxing Fitness trainer, and a university Sport & Exercise Science degree. Adam has big plans for individualised pre-season training in the UTS Elite Athlete Private gym located at UTS’ Ross Milbourne Sports Hall. UTS Sparks are extremely excited to have you on the team, Adam!
